In 1633, Portuguese priests Sebastião Rodrigues and
Francisco Garupe travel to Japan to investigate the
mysterious silence of their mentor, Father Ferreira,
amid brutal anti-Christian purges. As they witness the
persecution of Japanese Christians, Rodrigues faces a
harrowing choice—renounce his faith or condemn others to
suffering.
