Zodiac Tiger

You may be wondering how I got highlighted this week since this is the year of the pig, or boar, if you wish. Look closely, and you will see my companion, the pig, taking a ride on my back. Also, you will see other signs represented as I am carrying all of them with me. You can see five other signs in this view. Can you identify them?

I was carved from Indian elephant ivory in 20th century China. I have the positive traits of being passionate, kind, generous, funny, enthusiastic, sociable, energetic, and optimistic. The negative traits of being restless, reckless, impulsive, impatient, vain, disobedient, and hotheaded are also attributed to me, but I really prefer to focus on the positive.

I joined Mary Hulton Phillips in 1987 and resided in her home until she founded The Maridon Museum in 2004. I have been at home here in the Side Gallery with my other zodiac companions since then. Please visit us.
