Emerald Carving of Budai on Ruby Base

I am a very happy Budai, one of the Daoist and later a Buddhist Happy God. My gemological report from a French association identified my mineralogical species of stones as 3,500 carats of emerald. I sit on a base of ruby mixed with kyanite decorated with incised leaves and sprinkled with gems. With my base, I am 8-1/2” high, 6.5” wide. I originated from China in the 20th Century and entered our founder, Mary H. Phillips’ home in 2000. I was in her living room until the opening of The Maridon. Please visit me in the Side Gallery.
