I started my flight from China during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). I was carved from nephrite jade, and my color is taupe, which is considered most unusual. Jade comes in many colors, as you will see when you visit our museum. But I am the rare one of my special color. Mary Hulton Phillips, founder of The Maridon Museum, discovered me in 2004 just before opening her new museum. Wasn’t I just the lucky one!
There was a time in my past that I took up residence with Ivy and Alfred Clark. They were important jade collectors in London in the 1920s and ‘30s, and I was very honored. Interesting how the avenues we take throughout our lives forge our paths to where we are today. Please visit me in the Rear Gallery Time-Line Exhibit of The Maridon. I have many interesting companions with me, and we all look forward to your visit.
